Seven Canyons is an private golf club and ownership resort at the elegant Seven Canyons Resort west of town near the Enchantment Resort. Surrounded by
pristine National Forest, it is widely acknowledged as one of the most beautiful and entertaining courses in the world. Since its opening, Seven Canyons has been continually receiving rave reviews from the nation’s foremost golf course critics and highly regarded golf publications. The Tom Weiskopf design has been acclaimed as one of the Top 10 New Private Golf Courses in America by both Golf Digest and Golfweek Magazine, has been named one of the top 35 real estate golf courses in the United States byGolfweek, and one of the best new golf courses in the entire world byThe Golfer.
Perhaps Bradley S. Klein, architecture editor forGolfweek, best characterized the golf experience at Seven Canyons when he simply wrote, “Seven Canyons is the ‘IMAX’® of golf.”
Seven Canyons is a private club with top flight amenities on the way and, not surprisingly, has been pricey as well as exclusive. The initiation membership fee was up to $175,000 before the club went into bankruptcy. It recently emerged from Chapter 11 and that fee has dropped to $45,000!
It’s also now being managed by the Enchantment Resort, rated by various travel magazines as one of the best in the world. So, members will likely be sharing the course with some resort clientele, but that, at least, guarantees the club’s financial viability. As most serius golfers know, golf clubs across the country have experienced harrowing monetary problems in the past decade.
Seven Canyons has a few residential lots available in the $1 to 2 million range and fractional-ownership villas that offer luxurious living for part-time residents at reasonable prices.

Oak Creek Country Club
The Oak Creek Country Club is an 18 hole championship golf course nestled in the majestic Sedona red rocks in the Village of Oak Creek. Designed by
Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr..
The golf course consists of 145 acres, including three lakes. Water comes into play twice on the front nine between the #1 and #9 holes. On the back nine the water comes into play on holes #13 and #16 and occasionally, on hole #15. Recent renovations to the golf course include brand new concrete cart paths and all the greenside bunkers rebuilt under the watchful eyes of the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design firm.
This Sedona, Arizona golf course is a traditional layout similar to those that you may find in the Midwestern United States. In the usual Trent Jones manner, the fairways are classic tree lined doglegs with fairway bunkers strategically placed in the landing areas, and the greens are all slightly elevated and surrounded with large swirling greenside bunkers. The golf course is “player friendly”, allowing plenty of room for error but always with an opportunity to recover and get errant shots back into play.
Oak Creek Country Club is a private club, but open to the public – so not rally a country club as most people concieve of that. For more information about golfing in Sedona, call or email us.
